Recently there has been a noticeable spike in neuts selling scam DED sites via contracts. While there is nothing wrong with neutrals selling their escalations, a decent chunk of these contracts are scams and these bookmarks lead to empty space. If you commonly purchase DED sites via contracts, Be wary about buying sites off unreputable neutral pilots. If you are not sure ASK who the main is and contact them. after all, if the alt can sell then the main must be available to chat, yes?

However, this leads to a more troubling problem which affects everybody.

In order to promote themselves as being trustworthy, many of these individuals have claimed to be the alts of real Providence pilots, and in some cases, Provibloc pilots. This often leads to diplomatic incidents and finger-pointing, These attempts at deception on behalf of the scammers are actually in direct violotion of the EVE Online Terms of Service, specifically this portion:

8. You may not impersonate or present yourself to be a representative of CCP or an EVE Online volunteer. You may not impersonate or falsely present yourself to be a representative of another player, group of players, character or NPC entity.

If you encounter a DED scammer attempting to impersonate another pilot or yourself, I would highly recommend you advise the affected pilot to report the offending player to CCP. The offenders will eventually be caught and likely their IP's and mains also banned.

Just remember,

IF YOUR STILL NOT SURE, THEN DON'T take the contract.

With Respect
