We have recently become a group that is more cavalier than we should be about engaging in and around KLYN when defensive situations come up. People have been selecting ships and arranging engagements without adequate numbers, preparation and contingencies.
This is a problem, because while the odd loss that can be soaked up by a few players isn't an issue to them, it has begun to create a culture that provides easy kills to those that have come here for pvp. As a result, we're seeing a rise in hostile activity around KLYN.
We have also seen a rise in people using capitals in far too cocky a fashion. We've vastly expanded our numbers of these ships, however it is clear some of our pilots have experience to gain before they can use them sensibly.
So, let me make a few things very clear.
- FROM TODAY, DO NOT UNDOCK ANY CAPITALS IF HOSTILES/NEUTRALS ARE PRESENT IN LOCAL WITHOUT THE PRESENCE OF DARK MOTOKO
, CALLUM HUGMAN
, DRAGON BF
, ELYSIUM PRIME
OR VALKYRIE HERLAND
- CAPITALS ARE NOT TO ENGAGE OR CONTINUE TO ENGAGE WITHOUT DIRECT ORDERS FROM THESE FCS.
- THERE ARE TO BE NO MORE BLUE ON BLUE PRACTICE ENGAGEMENTS OUTSIDE STATION IN KLYN. NO EXCEPTIONS.
- IF HOSTILES ENTER KLYN;
GET SAFE AND DO NOT ENGAGE WITHOUT FCS BEING PRESENT.
DO NOT ENGAGE WITHOUT SOLID PREPARATION, I.E. LOGISTICS, ECM AND ADEQUATE PLANNING
Direct orders for all Solitaire FCs:
We need a significant reduction in losses, so there are to be no more cavalier engagements where FC's behave as if losses do not matter. An engagement is only to be attempted if you have prepared to the degree where you believe better than 50% efficiency is going to occur. Mistakes happen, but the general attitude needs a rebalance. Now.
As for capitals, they are also to be used SPARINGLY. They have been used far too frequently lately and hostiles are beginning to learn and react. They are not an I-WIN button, and I will censure FC's if cavalier attitudes continue. Capital grade level is restricted at present to five of you. I will alter that number if adequate respect is not given to the value of these assets. The Phoenix kill recently is a prime example of good capital use. Plan it, prepare, use them and then get them clear and safe and do not repeat their use quickly.
The rest of you; if no FC is present, you stay safe in station, get a coffee, and relax until conditions improve.
